Grant’s Administration was full of Scandals First Scandal involved Grant’s Brother-In-Law and two thieves that planned to steal the U.S. Gold
Grant Heard this and sold all of the gold, plunging the country into an economic depression, threatening many business
Later became known as Black Friday, or the day when the price of Gold Crashed
Chaotic Times
During Reconstruction the country was in a chaotic time. You had freed slaves that didn’t know where to go or what to do, stationary troops in the south, and on top of that, a corrupt Executive Branch that was unstable.
